"Minnesota Farmers Care," it is the message of the Minnesota Farm Bureau. The state officers were fortunate enough to sit down with staff of the Minnesota Farm Bureau recently to discuss agricultural policy, happenings, literacy, and much more. As officers, we learned a significant amount of things and further developed our voices for agriculture, which leads me to this......
"Farming," what comes to mind when you hear this word? Perhaps it's tractor, land, crops, animals or grandpa and grandma.
"Farmer," what comes to mind when you hear this word? Maybe hard working, laborer, hick, country, and more.
"Farm," what words do you initially think of? Cows, chickens, horses, small, large, family, country folk.
Now, close your eyes. And in your mind paint yourself a picture of a farm. What does it look like? Who's in the picture? Are their animals, crops or buildings?
We all painted different pictures in our heads. Maybe some of us painted our own farms in our head. Some were perhaps dairy farms or crop farms raising sugar beets or corn. The great thing about farms and production agriculture is the diversity. Here in Minnesota we have a vast amount of different farms raising and growing different things. Sugar beets, dairy, turkeys, potatoes, corn, sunflowers, hogs, wheat, beef, soybeans, wild rice, chickens, and so much more. From Kittson county to Houston county and from Lake county to Rock county farmers are ensuring care for their animals and taking care in growing a crop. As a state, we have so many agricultural commodities making us a diverse and proud agricultural state. We, whether we live or work on farms, live in town, or a rural non-farm setting, have to speak up for agriculture. Share your personal stories, your passion of agriculture, and your knowledge with the growing population who does not have that direct tie with agriculture!
Today's farms are increasingly important in not only our communities, but at a state, national, and global level. Are we doing our duties as FFA members, FFA supporters, and agricultural enthusiasts sharing our message of all the wonderful things that farm families are doing on their farm. Farmers care about their animals, their families, the environment, and the food they raise and grow.

Speak up! Share your stories! Pass on your knowledge! And show your passion for agriculture! We have the privilelge and responsibility to do so. Never pass up an opportunity where you can connect and discuss agriculture with individuals. Do your part and spread the exciting news about agriculture, farmers, and even the FFA.
Stories, messages, knowledge, and passion of agriculture. Will you share them?
Stationed by the emblem of Washington,
Tyler Warren
